Anticipation

We're off on another adventure!  We leave Wednesday, April 24 and fly overnight to Lisbon where we'll join a Smithsonian trip called "European Coastal Civilizations".  We'll be on the M.S. Le Boreal, a rather small ship with about 200 passengers:

We'll travel up the European coast to Oporto, Portugal; Santiago and Bilbao, Spain; Belle-Ile en Mer, France; Guernsey Island; we'll visit Caen and the Normandy beaches, and end in Honfleur, France.  Our lecturer and guide to the Normandy beaches will be Dwight David Eisenhower II, grandson of the famous general and president, who is a noted WW II historian and author.

After docking in Honfleur we'll pick up a car and spend another two weeks touring Normandy and Brittany, parts of France we've not spent time in before now.  We'll end in Quimper, take the TGV train from Quimper to CDG airport outside of Paris, and fly home on Tuesday, May 14.

Among other wonderful sights we plan to visit Mont St.-Michel and the Bayeux tapestries, things which have been on our wish-list forever.  I don't know what the internet access will be like while we're on board the ship, but will post whenever possible.  Enjoy!
